Programs
Assessment & Diagnostic Program
Jefferson Trail’s Assessment & Diagnostic Program is tailored to each child’s presenting issues. Rather than administer the same battery of assessments to each individual, Jefferson Trail selects only the tests necessary to answer the specific referral question or to address specific symptoms. Those tests can include behavioral, IQ, educational, projective, personality, psychopathology, neuropsychological or neurological evaluation.
Assessments are conducted by licensed clinical and forensic psychologist, licensed clinical neuropsychologist, board certified neurologist, as indicated.
Jefferson Trail’s close proximity to The University of Virginia medical facilities affords us the best in options for comprehensive evaluations.
Family Focus
Assessment at Jefferson Trail includes families. We complete a genogram — a display of the child’s family, relationships, and medical histories — and involve the family as necessary. We also assist with family visitation and participation.
Rapid turn-around of results and realistic recommendations are our goal, ensured by close and open communication with referral sources and localities.
Length of Stay
The target stay is 30 days, but length of stay can be influenced by the complexity of the referral question.
